I have spent most of my life on the West Coast, enjoying the ocean, rivers, lakes, and trails. My wife and two boys share my love of the outdoors and the wonders of the natural world. Practicing medicine provides me the opportunity to have an impact on the lives of others, providing comfort and support during challenging times. Over the course of my career, I have directed a simulation center, directed medical student education, and worked to decrease the environmental impact of inhaled anesthetics.
About my practice
As an anesthesiologist, I work within a care team to provide comfort and safety during surgery and other procedures. My goal is to give patients the best possible experience by understanding their needs, tailoring the process for the individual, and applying standards that help improve outcomes. I believe in taking approaches that empower the patient, and I promote clear communication within the care team.
How I thrive
I thrive through experience that promotes personal growth. For me, the best way to do this is to explore the natural and cultural world firsthand. We tend to take for granted that what we see is all there is, but if we venture out, we often find that discovery awaits.
