I was born and raised in New York City and came to Oregon and joined Northwest Permanente in 2000. The last 11 years have been the most personally and professionally rewarding years of my life. It's been a pleasure to work in our integrated healthcare delivery system and have the opportunity to provide the best care possible for our patients in the Northwest. Collaborating with colleagues to deliver top-notch care is especially rewarding to me and makes every day a great day.
About my practice
I am the Regional Chief of Radiology and an Interventional radiologist. Performing image-guided procedures with low morbidity and mortality rates is the joy of my life and I feel privileged to deliver this care to our patients. Some examples of these techniques include endovascular stent graft placement for abdominal aortic aneurysms, arterial and venous angioplasty/stent placement, hepatic arterial chemoembolization for liver dominant neoplasms, and uterine artery embolization for treatment of symptomatic uterine fibroids. In my role as Department Chief, I love working with colleagues and other Radiologists to develop a service that delivers excellent patient care. Coordinating professional activities across the region is a challenging and fulfilling job that I've enjoyed for four years. I feel proud and rewarded knowing that the operational decisions made are made in the best interest of our patients.
How I thrive
Swimming three to four times a week helps me to clear my mind and feel refreshed. Sharing my life with my wife and our young children helps me rejuvenate. Watching a smiling baby and helping her or him eat has been a heartwarming experience that I'm lucky enough to enjoy every day.
