Soon after becoming a physician in my native country, I moved to Philadelphia to focus on internal medicine. In 1998 I came to Oregon to work for Kaiser Permanente Northwest and to enjoy the greenery that this state offers. As I learned about Kaiser Permanente's integrated model of practicing medicine and its advanced electronic medical records system, I knew this was the best environment for me to practice and thrive.
About my practice
I promote teamwork and I think this is the only way modern medicine should be practiced. I spend time during each visit to get to know my patients and I believe that the best outcome is when the patient fully participates in their care and treatment decisions. I believe in one's control of their own health and I encourage my patients to make healthy choices and enhance their lifestyle whenever possible. I believe in preventive care and I take time during appointments to educate my patients about this. I learn as much from my patients every day as they learn from me. This helps me deliver better care and contribute to keeping my patients healthy.
How I thrive
I love physical activity of any kind. I do something every day, whether it's gardening, running, skiing, or working out at the gym. But, the activity I love most is playing with my four year old son. I am also a proud mother of a college student, my daughter who is pursuing a medical career, and I enjoy doing "grown up" activities with her.
