About Reviews

No comments available. ?

I'm originally from south Orange County in sunny Southern California. When not studying or at the beach, I played baseball year-round. After high school, I attended University of California, Berkeley, as a Regents’ and Chancellor’s Scholar, completing a major in molecular/cellular biology with a minor in disability studies. I was actively involved in sports medicine research during all four years of college, and after graduation I decided to pursue a master’s degree in epidemiology and biostatistics at Berkeley's School of Public Health. After six years in the Bay Area, I moved back to Southern California to attend medical school at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). It was during the third year of medical school that I developed a love for the excitement, variety, and unpredictable challenges that emergency physicians encounter on a daily basis. After finishing medical school, I moved across the street (literally) to complete a residency in emergency medicine at UCLA. During this time, I published and presented clinical research and became heavily involved in teaching medical students and junior residents.

About my practice

The Emergency Department is a fast-paced, exciting and oftentimes unpredictable environment. No other place in the hospital deals directly with as many disease processes and levels of acuity as the Emergency Department does. I love that no two shifts are alike and that we treat all patients who come to us, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. I strongly believe in sitting at the bedside, quietly listening and performing a thoughtful and focused examination and evaluation. I value culturally competent, evidence-based care, and with my background in public health I share Kaiser Permanente's belief in caring for the patient's total health.

How I thrive

My personal philosophy is mens sana in corpore sano — "a healthy mind in a healthy body." When I'm not in the hospital, there are many things that help me thrive. I enjoy spending time with my fiancé and our golden retriever, Oski. I'm an avid college football fan (Go Bears!) and follow the NFL, MLB, and NBA closely. I also find that exercise is a great stress reliever, and I enjoy both running and weightlifting. As a self-proclaimed "foodie," I also enjoy exploring the local restaurant scene and taking advantage of the wonderful outdoor activities in this area.
