I am an east coast native, originally from Buffalo, New York. Tiring of the cold winters, I headed to University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) for my undergraduate education and some sunshine, then back to the east coast for medical school and residency training in Boston, Massachusetts. I moved to Oregon in 2003 and practiced hospital medicine with Kaiser Permanente until 2009, at which point I transitioned to Primary Care. As a Primary Care physician I really enjoy the continuity of patient care and the longitudinal relationships that evolve with my patients. I meet wonderful, interesting people every day in my practice and feel very fortunate to be trusted with such an important aspect of their lives - their healthcare.

About my practice

My practice focuses on collaborative care and shared decision making with my patients. I see myself as an educator, consultant, and a guide for patients and aim to help translate medical knowledge into practical, healthy living. I strongly believe in the preventive health care approach that Kaiser Permanente embodies. I also have a particular interest in the geriatric population. As our population gets older, I feel it is important to help our older members live life to the fullest, despite the medical problems that often plague our aging bodies.

How I thrive

Outside of my practice, I focus my time on my family including my three wonderful, highly-energy boys. They keep me busy and young-at-heart! I aim to keep fit through yoga and running. I diffuse stress though playing piano and listening to music. I thoroughly enjoy cooking and hope to someday master the art of French cooking. I also enjoy the outdoors and all that Oregon has to offer from the mountains to the coast. A balanced life is a healthy life and I try to achieve that through stimulation of the mind, body, and spirit.
