About Reviews

No comments available. ?

I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. My medical training has taken me to Portland, Oregon; Salt Lake City, Utah; Gainesville, Florida; and back here to the Portland-Vancouver area, where my family and I have lived for over 20 years. Medicine fulfills my scientific curiosity and desire to make a difference in the lives of people and the community.

About my practice

As a Pediatric Infectious Diseases physician, I evaluate and treat children with potential infections that are difficult to diagnose and confirmed infections that are complicated and/or difficult to treat. Many times these occur in some of the sickest children in the hospital including patients with prematurity, cancer, transplantation, or major surgery. These patients often have multiple medical providers and I make a special effort to spend time explaining medical conditions and answering questions with patients and their parents. One outstanding advantage of being a Kaiser Permanente physician is the array of comprehensive support services that help physicians provide better care for inpatients and outpatients every day. Examples include: the Home Infusion program and Home Infusion pharmacy, Drug Information Service, and the outpatient advice nurses.

How I thrive

Volunteer work keeps me grounded in the local community. I have volunteered in the public elementary, middle, and high schools where my children were students. Working for Kaiser Permanente introduced me to the Free Clinic of Southwest Washington where I volunteer as a physician regularly. I also volunteer regularly for the Southwest Washington Wind Symphony which provides free concerts in support of music education.
