My husband and I moved to Portland from Pittsburgh about five years ago. I was looking to work in a system that provides an integrated care experience, which Kaiser Permanente does. We also love biking, hiking, and being outdoors, so it was a move we were willing to make. We have four young adult children, three of whom live on the West Coast as well.
About my practice
I work primarily at Brookside Center, the residential psychiatric unit based at Sunnyside Hospital. I also see members in the hospital when psychiatric questions arise during a hospital stay.
How I thrive
I have found that exercising regularly and eating a healthy diet allows me to live my best life and do the other things I love. I like spending time with friends and family, particularly when being active outside or cooking and sharing meals. I also love to read and garden. My favorite charities are Heifer International and the National Resources Defense Fund. I'm passionate about teaching people skills so that they can help themselves--and about protecting the environment. I also support the Sierra Club and have enjoyed many volunteer trips with them, building or cleaning up trails and removing invasive plants.
