I was born and raised in South Africa. After receiving medical training, I practiced in South Africa, then completed my family medicine residency in Southern California. My husband and I relocated to Portland to be closer to family. My enthusiasm for human biology during high school, coupled with fighting a chronic illness within my family, sparked my interest in medicine. Helping my patients overcome their health challenges every day solidifies my decision and strengthens my passion for medicine.
About my practice
I believe the experiences I received from training within both the South African and the American health care systems have enriched my current practice. I enjoy treating a spectrum of patients from newborns to geriatrics, which makes being a family medicine physician the perfect fit. I also have a special interest in performing basic office procedures, prenatal care, and women's health. Building trusting relationships with my patients is a focus in my practice.
How I thrive
In my spare time I enjoy road biking, traveling, and meeting family and friends for dinner. Oregon’s hiking trails are another allure.
