I was born in Iowa and spent my childhood enjoying the four distinct seasons of South Dakota. When I first visited the Pacific Northwest on a family road trip with my parents, I remember being struck by its beauty. I graduated from Moorhead State University, in Minnesota, before having the opportunity to return to the Northwest for my doctorate training at Pacific University, in Forest Grove, Oregon. After optometry school, I met my wife, a Vancouver, Washington native, and we've lived in Vancouver ever since. We spend as much time as we can with our teenage daughter, hiking, exploring, and traveling.
About my practice
As an optometrist, I am fortunate to care for members of all ages. I take pride in ensuring every patient has a clear understanding of their ocular needs as well as how their eyes can provide vital information regarding their overall health. I believe in a team approach to medicine and feel it provides our members with a focused level of care.
How I thrive
I thrive by starting each day with exercise. Regardless of the weather, I prefer to be outside running, hiking, or biking. I've also been rewarded personally as a volunteer provider and past board member at the Free Clinic of Southwest Washington, which provides compassionate, free health care to low-income, uninsured patients in our community.
