I'm a Midwesterner, having grown up in Ohio and attended college at the University of Michigan. I moved west to Oregon with my college sweetheart and put down roots, completing medical school and residency in Portland, and now my husband and I have lived here longer than we've lived anywhere else. We love the mountains, the access to the ocean, and all that this wonderful city has to offer. I wanted an altruistic, intellectually challenging, and meaningful career and feel that medicine has truly been a good fit. I practice general internal medicine and enjoy working within the Kaiser Permanente team--it allows me to navigate care for my members within the most rational and comprehensive system I've found.
About my practice
Every member poses unique and often complex challenges and needs to feel embraced by our health care system. I enjoy working with a multidisciplinary team to ensure that each person is seen and heard. It's my job to discern both the medical situation and the goals of each individual so that I can provide the right care, at the right time, in the right place. As an internist, I enjoy taking care of the most medically complex members, working with specialists, and managing each member's full range of needs. I have extensive experience in both the outpatient and acute care arenas.
How I thrive
I enjoy spending time with my two sons, husband, two cats, and other family and friends in the area. We like to hike, swim, play games together, go on bike rides, enjoy classical (and other) music, and watch movies. We enjoy taking trips to explore our country and the world and to visit family out of state. I sustain myself outside of work with family dinners, helping my children with their homework and music practice, exercising regularly, and reading.
