Originally from the Midwest, I attended medical school in West Virginia, during which I had the opportunity to do further training in Portland, Oregon. I found Portland to provide a balance of opportunities that fit my lifestyle. Subsequently, I attended residency here in Portland and after residency I started a career with Kaiser Permanente as a Hospitalist serving our Westside members.
About my practice
My practice is limited to hospital medicine, caring mainly for our Westside members.
How I thrive
My philosophy on medicine and life is that there is strong need for balance to occur between the various responsibilities in life. I am an advocate of prevention of illness, though my career often leaves me treating illness that has already occurred. I believe less is more when medications are needed, but I also agree in many cases there is benefit to treatment and management of further disease progression with chronic medical therapy. I am in favor of alternative approaches to care in conjunction with traditional medical therapy.
