I grew up in the Portland, Oregon area and wanted to be a doctor for as long as I can remember. I've also had Kaiser Permanente health care insurance for as long as I can remember (except for the eight years spent in medical school and residency). I went to Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon followed by medical school and residency training at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. I couldn't wait to come home and rejoin Kaiser Permanente, as a provider and a patient.
About my practice
I practice mostly at Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center (KSMC), a busy hospital that cares for a wide variety of patients. We, the department of anesthesiology, make it our goal to provide comprehensive care for patients in all stages of life, from childbirth to life-threatening diseases. I enjoy the challenge of meeting all those clinical needs.
How I thrive
Kaiser Permanente has helped me thrive by allowing me to find the balance between work and home. I have been able split my time between working in the operating room, administration, volunteer missions to Peru to fix cleft lips and palates, and coaching my kids' soccer teams. I also enjoy cooking with all the farm fresh produce from our own farmer's market.
