Dr Hegel is the best pediatrician we have ever had. My daughter reguires a lot of medical attention and I often need a lot of questions answered. Dr Hegel is always 100% present and goes above and beyond to answer and take care of my daughter's needs. Dr Hegel even reaches out, out of the blue, to see how my daughter is. I couldn't feel more blessed!

Dr. Hegel was very friendly and helpful. We needed assistance with a Doctor's note for our daughter's daycare regarding her [conditions], and we were able to get that.

I really liked *Dr. Hegel even though she's not our main doctor. I felt like we were well taken care of during this visit.

was unable to see usual provider and would happily see her anytime our usual pediatrician is unavailable! Down to earth, realistic and did not make me feel bad for our appt which was not urgent. But daycare necessitated it.

I felt as though there was a "my way or the highway" attitude when discussing care regarding my child. There was not much pro/con discussion on the prescriptions given. I, and most folks, would like a more pro con discussion and not "do this because I'm the doctor." With that said, we did like our doctor, she was kind and our son felt comfortable with her.

I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and wanted to be a physician since I was nine years old. I have always enjoyed children and gravitated toward pediatrics from my first clinical rotation. After completing my pediatric residency, I served in the U.S. Navy for four years. Over the last 10 years, my family and I have lived in Missouri, Ohio, Virginia, Guam, and California. We are now very happy as Oregonians.

About my practice

I am a board-certified general pediatrician, and I truly adore my work. I feel that the bond between families and their pediatrician is sacred, and I am honored by the trust bestowed upon me daily. I enjoy conducting well-visits for children of all ages, and enjoy explaining management/treatment strategies to parents and children and engaging them in treatment plan decisions. Medicine is an art, and at times there are many right answers, but in the end, I like for parents and patients to be comfortable with a given treatment plan.

How I thrive

I thrive by achieving a healthy work-life balance. While I am passionate about pediatrics, I love spending time with my family. I am married and have three active children--and two dogs, as well. We are excited to explore Oregon together, hiking, camping, and discovering the many wonderful outdoor activities that this state has to offer. I enjoy volunteering at my kids' elementary school, jogging, and attempting to recreate masterpieces I see on Pinterest.
