*Dr. Giswold is one of the best doctors @ Kaiser. She takes time to understand what the problem is. She listens thoroughly before examining and speaks to the problem area. I would recommend *Dr. Giswold to everyone I know.

*Dr. Giswold is an excellent doctor. I had a scary (for me) diagnosis and she was professional & knowledgeable, and also, extremely sensitive to my worries and was compassionate. I had a lot of questions and never felt rushed or that she needed to hurry on to other patients. Thank you, Dr. Giswold!

I had an exceptional awesome visit. I have a fear of needles, shots, cutting, scalpels etc., and the doctor and her assistant made me very comfortable with the shots and removal of my cyst.

I am originally from Madison, Wisconsin and moved to the Pacific Northwest in 1998 to complete my surgical residency at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). I fell in love with the area and all the Pacific Northwest has to offer. I have now made Portland my home.

About my practice

In my practice I believe communication is essential to all successful relationships. I strive to make sure my patients are very well informed about their diagnoses and any procedures they may require. We have an excellent staff in our clinic who are very caring and responsive. I have special interest in endocrine surgery, specifically thyroid, parathyroid, and pancreas surgery. I find general surgery a very rewarding profession and I consider it a privilege to help people get well.

How I thrive

I thrive by staying active - both in mind and body. I exercise 4-5 times per week through running, swimming, or weight lifting. I am thankful that I have a wonderful family and supportive friends. I also have two dogs who are great companions.
