A native of Indiana, I moved to Oregon for my medical residency and have stayed ever since. I am in love with the natural beauty of Oregon and all of the amazing people I have met at work and in the community. My wife and I have two young sons. My family enjoys outdoor activities of almost any kind. Our current focus is on the joy of having young children (along with the challenge of it).
About my practice
My career has focused on acute care management of hospitalized patients, including those seen in the emergency room. I have always enjoyed the challenge of identifying the cause of acute illness that brings our patients to these settings. I feel it is an opportunity to answer the questions of our patients who have suddenly become ill and need our help to find ways to make it better. I have five years of emergency room experience as well as five years in my current role as a hospitalist.
How I thrive
While work-life can be stressful in what we do, it is the challenge of physicians to find our own health in body and mind. Through exercise, working to eat well, and spending quality time with my family and friends, I am attempting to find a good balance in life, as we all are. Many of my activities are outdoor and athletic endeavors, but I find some time to enjoy art and music with my family as often as possible.
