I have had the privilege and pleasure of providing care to kids at Kaiser Permanente Northwest since 1990, soon after completing my residency. I worked in the urgent care clinics for the first several years while my three kids were very young, then began my practice a few years later. I've been at the Tualatin Medical Office since it opened in 2000 and love working in the community where I live. I enjoy gardening, reading, musical theater, and spending time at the beach and in the mountains.
About my practice
I see children from birth to age 18. I enjoy the challenge of caring for such a diverse range of patient needs--from helping parents with those first few weeks of caring for a new baby to talking with teens and teaching them ways to help maintain or improve habits which will allow them to be more healthy their entire lives. I work with parents who have a variety of parenting styles, and provide information and recommendations to help their children, whether I see them for a well check, an acute condition, or an ongoing medical issue.
How I thrive
A good sense of humor makes it easier to tackle the little things that crop up which could otherwise lead to stress. It's important to find time to relax, which can be hard for a working parent sometimes. Helping others outside of the office, such as volunteering at my kids' schools, and finding hobbies that are fulfilling and learning new things totally unrelated to medicine also help me to recharge.
