I really love being an internal medicine physician. I trained here in Portland at Legacy Good Samaritan and I'm so happy to be back in Portland again after some time away. I spent eight years in academic medicine training both residents and students, and I'm incredibly happy to still be able to work with residents from Oregon Health and Science University. I find that teaching keeps me up to date on many of the new things in medicine and keeps me excited about what I have to offer. I love music and reading. My husband is an electrical engineer. I have two young sons and I love spending time with my family.
About my practice
My personal philosophy is to share the decision process with the patient in order to help them decide the best possible choice for their particular concern. I am very passionate about preventive health as a way to keep people healthy and feel that this is an important part of what I can do for people. I treat adult conditions from 18 years of age and up. I find that this gives me a good deal of variety. I also feel that patient education is an extremely important factor in aiding recovery and helping people feel that they are participating in their own health.
How I thrive
My biggest interests in medicine are teaching and prevention. My hobbies are reading, music, and being active. I feel that this helps reduce stress and keeps me focused and happy, as well as healthy. I love teaching my sons new things and just enjoying being with them.
