I grew up in Los Angeles and spent five years in Houston, Texas, for radiology training. That's where I met my wife, a now-retired Kaiser Permanente radiologist. We moved to Portland in 1993 to join Kaiser Permanente and have loved practicing here.
About my practice
I practice general radiology, with an interest in CAT scanning. I have always appreciated the Kaiser Permanente practice environment. I know that if I recommend an additional study, it will be done. There is also an emphasis on avoiding unnecessary imaging and the potentially negative consequences it can have for members. I appreciate the collegial environment among the different specialties and believe that it translates into better member-care. While most of my days are spent looking at images in my office, I very much enjoy occasional days doing fluoroscopy procedures, when I can spend time directly with members.
How I thrive
I believe that balance in work-life and home-life is essential. I have always had a strong interest in music, both as a listener and an occasional performer. I exercise regularly, usually with brisk walks or hikes. I enjoy theater, concerts, lectures, and sampling the variety of Portland cuisine. I also follow the NBA as a fully-converted Blazer fan.
