I grew up in the Puget Sound area and was thrilled to move back to the Pacific Northwest after finishing my anesthesia residency at the University of California, Los Angeles. I spent six years in private practice in Vancouver, Washington, and am now happy to be part of Kaiser Permanente, which I believe is the model of health care for the future.
About my practice
My goals as an anesthesiologist are, first, to provide safety and comfort to my patients during their surgical experience and, second, to act as a consultant to the surgeon. I enjoy the way anesthesia blends human physiology, technology, and hands-on patient care. I particularly enjoy pediatric and obstetrical anesthesia.
How I thrive
Daily exercise is essential for my mental and physical happiness and is a natural stress reliever. I enjoy swimming, hiking, skiing, CrossFit, and yoga. On weekends my family aims to avoid using our car and instead we bike around town with our children in a bike trailer as much as possible. When I do get a quiet moment to myself, I love to sit on my patio reading historical fiction.
