I graduated from JSS Medical College in India in 2000, after which I spent seven years in Jamaica as a general practitioner and pediatric hospitalist--caring for hospitalized children. My fondness for working with children grew, and I decided to pursue formal training in the United States. My decision to become a pediatric neurologist is multifaceted. Neurology provides an ideal blend of complex pathophysiology, diagnostic tools, and clinical skills. I find the challenges and pleasures of interacting with children and participating in their development exceptionally rewarding. After many years living in the Midwest, we decided to move to Portland to be closer to family--and away from severe winters!
About my practice
My clinic is located at the Interstate Medical Office East in Portland. I specialize in treating various neurological conditions such as epilepsy, headaches, tics, and neuromuscular disorders in children and adolescents. I strive to provide compassionate care and work towards a collaborative approach to medical decision-making while prioritizing children's best interests. There are a lot of neurological conditions with no cure, but we can certainly improve quality of life and help a struggling child in some way.
How I thrive
Away from work, I love to spend time with our daughter. I also enjoy cooking traditional Indian dishes.
