Growing up in Buffalo, New York, I never envisioned living on the west coast. Initially, I moved around the Northeast, attending college in New Jersey and medical school in Boston, Massachusetts. I made my first big move to Northern California for my anesthesia residency. My husband and I subsequently decided to move to Portland, Oregon to pursue job opportunities, a decision that I am very happy with!
About my practice
I enjoy being an anesthesiologist because every day at work I feel that I'm doing something beneficial for society. It is important to me to connect with my patients, many of whom find surgery to be a stressful experience. I always welcome questions from my patients. I am also part of the pediatric anesthesia team, taking care of children under 12 years of age.
How I thrive
I find that running does wonders for me, both mentally and physically. I usually run 25-30 miles per week and consider that to be my personal time. I also enjoy cooking for my husband and playing with my labradoodle puppy.
